Gawd, I've been so uber lazy lately. Work + school + video games = me being tired. I should probably cut back on the video games, which I have been doing; but, I'm definitely going to not take so many classes next quarter. I'm signed up for 5, a full load, but will be cutting that down to two, maybe three. As long as my loans are paying for school, I'm not too worried about when I graduate.

I'm getting a gym membership, because I get a discount and it's driving me crazy to only be in semi-decent shape. I do walk a lot and eat pretty well, so I'm in better shape than I've been in for the past year or so; but I plan on going to bed about midnight, rather than two, from now on. That way, I can wake up about seven, get to the gym about seven-thirty, get a nice, hour long work out in, then head to work and be there about nine. Sounds like a good plan to me. That, and I've been craving a girlfriend again. Though, oddly enough, it's not any sexual need or anything like that, it's purely the emotional satisfaction I get from them that I've been lacking for so long.

There are a few candidates, but I'm pretty sure I'm not any of their type. Oh well, guess it's time to step it up a notch and start getting phone numbers.

Cheyenne graduated tonight, I'm very proud of and happy for her. Alice did as well. I'm trying to think of other people I know well enough to mention on here, but I don't think they exist. Anyway, Cheyenne got best of show in her major, Game Art and Design, which was awesome for her. Apparently, she had quite a few interests in her booth, according to a teacher that talked to some of those that were interested. Cryptic, makers of City of Heroes/Villains, seemed like one of the most interested, which is amazing. They do a great job with their game (aside from PvP, which needs an overhaul and is the reason I don't play anymore), but I think it would be a pretty good job for her...aside from the commute. We'll see what happens, and I'm hoping for the best for her.

I'm too lazy to put links to some great articles I found recently, but oh well. The main thing is Steve Irwin is dead. That is sad, I liked him a lot.

I moved in with Jay again...mostly. I have some stuff back at my other apartment I need to get fairly soon so I can clean it well and get back my full deposit. I started playing WoW...and I already play too much. It's a fun, addicting game, but I'm pretty sure I can handle only playing a very limited amount of hours during the week and putting it on the backburner on the weekends, assuming I have something to do.

The Oakland Festival of the Arts (I think that's what it was called...) was pretty entertaining. Decent music, crazy dancing happening around me, but I had a good time overall. I think that's it...time for bed.

I don't have the link now, and I'm far too lazy to go look it up again; but the Hit and Run guy from yesterday apparently was stressing over a prearranged marriage, was on medication, and thought the devil was coming for him. I guess those are almost halfway decent excuses for running over 15 (according to some articles, 14 on others, and 13 on some of yesterday's) people, right? Wrong. He needs to be shot.

As for more linkage, here's something interesting. Worried that someone didn't get your email and want to know when you should try again? Check out this semi-interesting article.

I'm stealing an article from Cheyenne's MySpace Blog, because it is quite interesting. Freedom of speech, huh?

This is the worst part of it, in my opinion:
"One official told him, "Going to an airport with a T-shirt in Arabic script is like going to a bank and wearing a T-shirt that says, 'I'm a robber,'" he said."

But I'm allowed to wear shirts that say FBI or SECURITY to concerts and out in public. Apparently, wearing a shirt with Arabic text is far worse than pretending to be a member of the FBI.

I wonder if this shirt, worn on some white kid, would come to the same result.

Started my new job today. It's great. I love it and get paid well. I even get my first paycheck far sooner than I expected and that'll help me out a ton with getting my rent paid off on time. It seems like a near perfect job for me, and I'm glad Cheyenne recommended me to the person who got me the job. In addition, although I don't drink coffee, I know I will be soon. They have free coffee in there and the two guys I mainly work with drink it constantly. There's no Mountain Dew that I've seen yet, so free coffee will likely be my caffeine sub until I get addicted to it. Oh well, at least carrying around a Starbuck's cup will seem more professional and mature than always having a can, or three, of Mountain Dew in my hands ;)

This is insane:

Like I told Cheyenne, he deserves to be shot in the nuts and left to bleed to death. This is not ok, and I can't even grasp how someone could do anything remotely close to this.

What else? I think that's about it, for now. The idea of actually having money in my bank account is making me so happy, perhaps now I can be able to ask someone out to dinner without having to add, "assuming you can pay..." ;)

All I want to do is cry right now. You know that feeling you got when you were young and didn't want to do something? All you wanted to do was cry but all you did instead was stretch yourself out as much as possible, pushing your legs against a wall or the floor if you were in a chair. I don't know if you know what I mean, but that's how I feel.

I'm tired of working on my programming project. It's absurd the amount of work I've put in compared to others in the class, especially for what I have to show for it. I should've worked on it all day today, including when I was in my Scripting class, but instead all I did was Cheyenne's website so she could show the renders off to Maxis, hoping to get a job.

And now I'm fucked for tomorrow's class. I think a big part of my problem is my computer vs the school computers, because I'm having trouble compiling things that work fine at school, so I'm going to play Oblivion until the school opens. Then I'll just work 'til class. If he doesn't like it, I'll take the low grade on this homework and request to be moved to a different part of the project, then I can finish my homework in an hour every week for a good grade, rather than spending 8+ hours and getting a shitty grade.

On another note, but still complaining, of course, MySpace sucks. All I wanted to do was add Three Six Mafia's song Poppin' My Collar to my page. You know, 'cause I'm a gangsta. Well, the damn thing came up with six pages of "their" profiles, and the "Plays, Views, Friends" thing was broken, so they all showed 0. Ten minutes later, I found only one profile had that song, and it won't even let me add it to my profile. It's probably better that way, as I'd forget it was up there and people viewing my page would probably laugh at me for liking such terrible music. Oh well.

On a higher note, I registered for my classes on time this quarter! No late registration fee for me! And I'm excited to start my job on Tuesday.

I think that's all for now.

PS Go listen to Three Six Mafia - Poppin' My Collar, it is wonderfully bad.

I haven't gotten much of anything done all week. It's Oblivion's fault, I swear. Actually, I haven't played it _too_ much, but enough to make it so none of my homework is done yet. Oh well.

On another note, I get to go to a Giants game tonight. Not that I enjoy baseball, but it's always fun to go to a live game. Plus, I can just taste those hotdogs right now...I can't wait.

A few links for your entertainment before I go shower for the game:

Wikiality now has a home.
Feel safe when you lock your doors?

That lock link is ridiculous. That eleven year old girl opened two different types of locks with hardly any effort in less than thirty seconds each. Hooray for being able to break in to the vast majority of house/businesses by spending about two bucks and thirty seconds.

Something I just found. Glad I'm not a vegetarian or terribly picky about what I eat.

What's In My Food?

I do think companies shouldn't be allowed to put "artificial coloring" as an ingredient. All the other ingredients are explicit, why isn't the coloring? Not that I would actually check to see if there's some sort of bug/chemical I shouldn't be eating everytime I buy something, but I'm sure plenty of vegetarians have eaten their fare share of bugs because of things like this.

Of course, I prefer fresh salmon from local markets that don't use farm raised fish: salmon tastes much better if caught in the wild. If you don't believe me, I'll take you to my Dad's one night and he'll cook us up some salmon. I promise, it's incredible.

Ugh, now I have to go to Advanced Rigging. :(

Oh yeah! I completely forgot to mention, I got a job at Perpetual. I start next Tuesday, so I'll actually have some funds and something to keep me busy other than video games for a change :)

So, I did start that new blog. I'm not really sure why I did, but I'm not going to keep updating it. The site was easier to use overall, but it's still in Beta, so it was buggy and has problems when I try to use my normal web browser. Switching to IE just to update something was too much of a pain, so I'm back here.

There's a cool new thing going around, though it's most likely some sort of publicity stunt. The people over at Steorn in Dublin, Ireland, claim they've found a way to create free energy. Yes, I did say create. And why did I bold it? Because that goes against one of the basic principles of physics: energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only change forms. But, apparently, Steorn thinks they've proved that wrong and are challenging scientists to come test it. There's a lot of speculation going around, and I, for one, am leaning toward the idea that it's another viral ad campaign (those of you who do not know what viral marketing is should find out here, as I strongly encourage Wikipedia...and Wikiality) for Halo 3 or Lost.

At first, I wasn't too sure what to think of it, but I'm pretty convinced this isn't even remotely close to being a genuine challenge to scientists. The fact that most of their PDFs have either not much content or simply won't open is a sign, seeing their team page and noting they show no scientists helped convince me, and the addition of Forums on a "scientific research" type company's site isn't exactly giving them any credit. It looks like the ilovebees campaign. Just look at the Register page with the giant honeycomb ;)

Anyway, things like this are always mildly entertaining, but require too much of my time. I'll follow along for awhile, but probably end up waiting 'til it's over to find out what it was actually about.

On another note, I love Stephen Colbert. If you have twenty-five minutes (or even just fifteen, the last ten minutes kind of bored me), you should definitely watch this. If you're like me and want to read the transcript after you watch it, read this.

I want to move to San Diego after school. I don't care what company I work for, but I'm moving to a nice part of Southern California, despite how much I think I hate it down there.

I miss the beach. I miss it and I didn't even know it until I went to Santa Barbara. I, then, almost forgot again until Diego reminded me. He started talking about how he went surfing and I just kind of zoned out, remembering how badly I want to surf, how much I love the ocean, and how I miss swimming in general. I'm moving down there, no matter what happens.

I think I'm going to start another blog, too...

Whoa, pretty eventful last few days.

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday! Well, Sunday was actually pretty uneventful. I pretty much sat around all day playing Pokemon on my Game Boy Emulator. Eventually (about 10:30 or so), Burnzy and I decided we were going to do something. Well, something turned into Denny's (what else is new?). Anyway, for some crazy reason people are sleeping at 11 o'clock on Sunday nights. Something to do with work...I'm not too sure, they all sounded pretty tired and annoyed when I asked them why they were in bed so early.

So, at Denny's, our waitress kept hanging out far longer than necessary and asking us questions. The one question that stood out above the rest was: "How old are you guys?" Before we got half-way through answering, she interupted and explained why she thought it would be ok with us and that we didn't seem like someone who would get upset and ask to talk to her manager, blah, blah, blah. We told her our ages, and she proceeded to stand there like she wanted us to ask her or something. Being the curious cat, I asked how old she thought we were, to which she responded (pointing at me), "nineteen and," pointing to Burnzy, "seventeen." She then wanted to know how old we thought she was. I told her twenty-five, even though I thought she was older. You know, make her feel good or whatever? Turns out she's actually twenty. Whoops.

After our fun-filled Denny's trip, we headed back to Burnzy's and watch NFL Network until 5am. A few bug tosses later, I fell asleep and woke up far too soon after because of A-Town heat.

Anyway, today was much more fun and activity. My mom took me shopping for a few hours to get clothes and such. I ended up getting a couple pair of pants, nothing too exciting. I didn't, however, get any shoes or shorts like the original plan was. She wanted to take me to dinner, and was shocked when I chose Weinerschnitzel. I had a good time with ol' Mom, she's always fun to hang out with. Most people don't like or get along with their parents (at least from what they tell me), which I'll never really understand. Anyhow, my mom eventually left me at Target to wait for Burnzy.

Burnzy and I headed to Denny's to meet Allison. Okay, okay, her name is Kim, but I call her Allison 'cause I suck. I'm not too sure on the whole how-well-Burnzy-knew-this-girl deal, but whatever, she was cool. We had a good time joking around with her and I enjoyed her company. Apparently, we may just be heading to Reno tomorrow to hang out with her and her friends. Well, Burnzy and I came to my place and watched The Ringer after Denny's. By God, that movie was awful. The only redeeming thing about it was the girl (who I can't remember), because she's definitely a cutie.

Wow, that took about 2 hours to write. I kept switching around and doing other things. Oh well, it's long and probably repeats/skips a ton of things. :)

Still up in Auburn, or A-Town for those of us that are cool like that, and having a grand old time. Met up with Molina, Burnzy, Zack, and Zack's cousin tonight. Unfortunately, Molina couldn't come with us to go bowling, but he was able to go out to Burnzy's place and chill for a bit. After Zack was nearly an hour late, we had some food at Burnzy's while watching parts of "Batman Begins," "Batman and Robin," and "I, Robot." The real fun kicked in when we got to the bowling alley.

So, Zack and I both are madly in love with Salma Hayek. We decided we were going to fight for her. Since I'm a crappy fighter, we opted to bowl for her instead. That game I was trailing by quite a bit up until the 10th frame. Somehow I struck out and was 8 pins ahead of Zack, who had his 10th frame left as well. With our girl on the line, Zack choked on his first ball, leaving 5 pins standing. He managed to hit 3 on his second ball. We tied.

Well, of course Burnzy wanted in on this, even though he doesn't actually like Salma, so we decided to bowl for girls from then on. The winner would get a hot girl, second place would get a decent girl, third would get an "aww crap" girl, while last would get...well, not really a girl at all.

The first of these games, the girls were:
Gwen Stefani
Ashlee Simpson
Queen Latifa
Chuck Norris

The second game:
Jessica Alba
Posh Spice
Pregnant Britney Spears
Rosey O'Donnell

During the first of these games, it was also decided that the winner between Zack and me would get Salma as well, since we'd tied the previous game. Well, I got third. Zack got first, racking up two hotties with Salma Hayek and Gwen Stefani. Burnzy took Ashlee Simpson while Zack's cousin (sorry, I can't remember his name) got Chuck. We don't expect to see him, knowing Chuck has already given him a round-house kick to the face.

The second game, I was determined to not get two crappy girls in a row after losing my beauty to Zack. I managed to pull ahead of Burnzy (who started playing pretty badly after the 5th frame or so) and get Posh Spice. Zack, the asshole, got Jessica Alba. So, Zack obtained the three best girls of the night and wouldn't even let me borrow one. :(

Anyway, it was a great time and I had a lot of fun. I'm probably heading back home tomorrow though, since I'd like to be able to help Scotty Bones move and say good bye. We'll see though, I'm not too sure I'll be able to make it back down very early.

Wow, I guess I didn't really think about anything when I added that last entry.

Anyway, one of my best friends is leaving :(
He was, by far, my best friend from San Francisco (ok, maybe behind Cheyenne, but it's hard to beat a long relationship), and now he's going back to the East coast with his girl. He had a going away party Saturday. I had a freakin' blast. I thought I was going to be late (per usual), but I ended up only being about thirty minutes late. I was the first one there, so his girl, Donna, and I set up the Badmitton (?) net while Scotty Bones was picking up his parents. Anyway, we ended up playing football, badmitton, a bit of soccer, and had a nice amount of food from the barbeque. After the party, we headed out to a pool hall and played for an hour or two. I played one game with Donna as my teammate, the following six I had Scotty Bones as my partner. I went a total of 7-0, 6-0 with Scotty B. We kicked ass and took names. Was a ton of fun, and I'm going to miss him a lot.

The night before, Burnzy was supposed to come to my place and stay the night. Well, long story short: he got lost about five minutes from my house because his phone ran out of batteries. He found some place to charge it for a bit, and I gave him new directions which somehow lead him across the Bay Bridge and away from my house. He got lost even more (somehow) and ended up just driving home to Auburn. He missed the party, but whatever: it makes for a funny story (which I might even write out in full at some point).

I think that's it for now.

I'm in Auburn for now. I got here Monday and am leaving within the next day or two (at least I should be). While we haven't really done a lot since I got here, I've had a good time. It's pretty much just been Burnzy and me hanging out, as always.

Well, you'd think I'd have more to say after five months of not writing anything. Oh well, guess that's how the cookie crumbles.

Ok, so I just got in the mood to make a webpage at some point over the past few days. I've been toying with different Control Mangers and Web Portals since I'm not much of a web coder other than HTML, which I'm tired of editing whenever I want to update something. Anyway, I now have my portfolio site in re-development. I encourage everyone to head over to:

jneely.com/mambo.

I think (it's been almost 24 hours since I've slept, I'm too tired to think clearly at this point) that I moved the old site to a new folder, so if you try to access jneely.com directly, you'll get some sort of error...or maybe a directory listing. Which could potentially be bad. Oh well.

Anyway, check it out and leave me some feedback, I want it to look as good as I can make it for my future employers!

Well, it's been forever and a day since I've updated this. It's not that I've grown tired of doing it, that I'm too lazy, or even that I haven't had time to. The fact of the matter is: I haven't been doing anything lately. I suppose there were some things in there worthy of sharing with my fellow readers (all two of you), but honestly, I just didn't think it would be worth it. So now, I shall go back and tell of these tales and my fantastic day today.

Thanksgiving:
I had a great Thanksgiving. I travelled down to Sunnyvale to have lunch, dinner, and the following morning's breakfast with my family. My Aunt Sally, hosting the get together, is a fabulous cook, along with her daughter and husband, so the food was incredible. For lunch, we had a soup made by my cousin. The soup was some sort of Pumpkin something or other with a portion of lobster thrown in everyone's bowl. It was possibly the absolutely best soup I've ever had, and I've had good soup. I'm a huge soup fan, though I wasn't really aware of it until fairly recently. Anyway, the dinner was also incredible. I can't remember exactly what we had now, as it was...two weeks ago? A week ago? I'm not too sure, I've lost track of time lately. Well, the dinner was great, and my mom brought dessert. Unfortunately, I really wasn't feeling well, so I skipped out on dessert. I slept on a hotel floor that night, 'cause no one was willing to sleep with my dad. My mom and sister slept together, so I had the option of the floor or with Dad. He made my decision very easy with his non-stop farting. I froze that night, but it was better than waking up with an odor that may not come out for days. Breakfast was good, as always, and we hit the road again, heading home. Of course as I got out of my dad's car, I left my bag o' leftovers in the car so he took them home and ate them, with my permission. I wasn't about to travel 2 hours (one way) to get them back.

Cheyenne's Birthday Party:
This was shortly (a few days) after Thanksgiving, so I still wasn't feeling terribly well. I was supposed to meet with everyone at a Thai food restaraunt at 5 or 6 (again, my memory is pretty bad), but I was about fifteen to twenty minutes late. I was able to order at the same time as everyone though, thanks to my quick decision skills (or my random pointing to something on the menu that sounded vaguely familiar...). I had a decent time, but toward the end of the meal, my stomach began to tell me it wasn't having as good of a time as the rest of me was. Thinking I could use the bathroom there, I quickly decided that it was probably not the best idea and opted (my favorite word, by the way) to go home instead. I missed out on a club with some live music, which I really wanted to see, but knew this was a better idea.

Umm..I'm lazy. I'll finish this later. I got into other things and don't feel like completing this now.

I had a fantastic day today, it was a blast.

First thing's first. I woke up early (about 8:00 or so) and started doing programming homework. I continued this and made plans to meet Cheyenne about 2, do homework with her until 5 (when she was meeting someone for food), and she'd come back and we'd work together until 6:30ish, when we'd head out and see Capote. That was the plan.

Around 1:30, Cheyenne called and said she was getting on the BART, which was my cue to take a shower and head down to the school to meet her. As I started the shower up, I looked out my bathroom window (which I can't close the blinds to without quite a bit of effort) and saw about six mexican fellows working right outside my window on the roof next door. Changing my mind about the shower, I gathered my things and left the apartment. With all that shower time, I decided on getting food, assuming Cheyenne wouldn't want to eat a few hours before meeting someone for food. To make a long story short, I had to take care of some financial aid and accounting problems at school (and now don't get the money I need for rent until the day after rent is due; convenient, I know), so I met up with Cheyenne a bit after two. We worked on homework and joked around until about 5:00 when she left to meet up with Jonathan Chan for food.

This is about when I went to the group formerly known as the "Game Production Club," currently known as "Dark Alley Studios," and known to me as "the joke." I went thinking maybe they were on track more than before and I'd be interested in a Technical Lead position, if not a standard programming position. Unfortunately, they're not exactly... on the ball. So, I'm not going to waste my time and energy meeting with them one or more times a week just so nothing gets done and I can complain about how their ideas won't work with any engine ever created.

Well, after I was done laughing at the people and their ideas, I had to wait for Cheyenne to return so we could go to the movie. She...well, took quite a bit longer than needed. I was kind of upset at first, but realized I had subconciously planned for this and had set our times twenty minutes earlier than we really needed to be. She was about twenty minutes late, so it worked well. Anyway, after not accepting my credit card and having to pay the two dollar ATM fee, we headed into Capote. The movie was great at parts and kind of dragged on at parts. Overall, a decent movie. Phillip Seymour Hoffman (I apologize if I spelled his name wrong, but I don't believe in research) is a great actor and I like him more and more every movie I see him in.

After the movie, we went to Starbucks so we could get change for our five dollar bills and get on the bus with correct change. I headed home and continued working on my programming. I'm extremely motivated for some reason.

All in all, I had a really, really great day. Cheyenne was a lot of fun tonight, and we got along well. Everything was good, but at one point I was really damn close to trying to kiss her and then stopped myself. It wasn't even that I really wanted to and thought she would be ok with it. I didn't stop myself because I thought she'd freak out. I was close because it just felt like old times and, mentally, it seemed completely natural and what I would've done while we were together. I stopped myself because we, obviously, aren't together and won't be, most likely, again. It would've been awkward for both of us had I not stopped myself, I'm glad self-control kicked in for once. Go me.

Wow, it's been awhile. Not a terrible amount has happened, though. I really don't do much lately. Sit around my apartment, making it even messier than it is (which is pretty bad...). Anyway, I've been playing a lot of video games. More than usual, which is bad, because I have more homework to do than usual. The two don't go well together.

Final note:

If you're anywhere in the bay area and want to see any of the following movies, please tell me and we'll go see them ASAP.
1) Jarhead. I still haven't seen this :(
2) Walk the Line. I love Johnny Cash
3) Capote (or whatever it's called). Cheyenne and I are very likely going to go see this, so if I tell you no when you ask, I apologize in advance. I'm just putting it here more so everyone knows what I want to see.
4) Weatherman. I'm not sure if this looks good or not, but I like Nicholas Cage and I want to see it.

I think that's it, there may be more. I'm not sure. I like movies, though, so if you want to see one that isn't on here, let me know. Perhaps I just forgot it was out.
